Fandom Snowflake Challenge - Days 4 & 5

Yeah I believe I skipped 2 and 3 but that is okay, you are not required to do all the challenges.

Day 4

Introduce yourself to someone you admire and friend/follow them on whatever platform you use - journal or Twitter or Tumblr or whatever. Afterwards, leave a comment in this post with the equivalent of "I did it!"

I did it!!! :)
Found a vidder on YouTube and left them a comment on their channel! This was a little difficult for me because I have actually BEEN doing this for the last 2 months at ff.net and have actually made some new friends from it!! So, I went a different route and went back to my fandom roots and picked a vidder on YouTube!

Day 5

In your own space, share something non-fannish you are passionate about with your fannish friends. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

Easy!! I have even made videos of my non-fannish passion!!

Breastfeeding. I am a bit of a lactavist and have made a couple of videos on the subject and posted them on YouTube! These were made in 2007 in the early days of my vidding. The 101 reasons to breastfeed is sort of famous now and is being used at some WIC (women, infants, children) offices and Le Leche League meetings in various parts of America.

I do boycott Nestle. For the very reason in this video. I am going on my 4th year of boycotting them and I will continue to do so.

I can get quite animated discussing it. But here is my disclaimer for the breastfeeding activist I am.. I do understand there are some mothers that can not, or choose not to breastfeed. That is between you and your baby. A mother who feeds her baby with care is a good mother. While I believe breast really is best what you do is up to you. I am just trying to share my passion and educate about the benefits of breastfeeding.

I tip my hat for you!

I was a breastfeed baby and report no health problems in my infancy. I have been no mother yet, and have little chance of being one, and I do regret I wouldn't have that experience...

Cool.

I love the Lactivist thing, it just sounds so cool.
