Yeah, go ahead, laugh at the wussies..
The article on the TOP of the front page of today's paper...
A temperature spike during which the mercury will climb into the 90s at some North Olympic Peninsula locales is expected beginning today.
And just as quickly as the temperatures rise, they’ll fall to near-normal conditions by Saturday, the National Weather Service forecast Tuesday.
Dennis D’Amico, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Seattle, said the three-day heat wave is expected to affect the entire Olympic Peninsula.
A sampling of forecast high temperatures for Thursday: 89 in Port Angeles, 86 in Sequim, 84 in Port Townsend, 88 in Port Ludlow, 91 in Brinnon, 93 in Forks, 91 in Neah Bay and an absolutely balmy 78 degrees for mile-high Hurricane Ridge in Olympic National Park.
“It’s going to be a good time to go to the beach,” D’Amico said.
The heat is being caused by a combination of a high pressure system over British Columbia and offshore winds which will draw the heat from desert inland areas to the coastal region, according to the Weather Service.
The winds will do an about-face by late Friday, with breezes off the Pacific bringing high temperatures back into the 60s and 70s under mostly sunny skies, forecasters said.

You have my permission to laugh at what wimps we are here..
But remember, we live in a rainforest here, at sea level, by the ocean.. 90 is HOT!!! It's reached 100 TWO times in my life that I remember. Air conditioning is only something they have in public places.. or if you are rich and snobby enough to have it to run the week of the year it's actually needed.
Me, I probably won't be venturing out much.. I have sun allergies.. It's a good thing I live HERE and not somewhere that gets tons of sun!! Maybe I will lather up the sunscreen one of these days and take the kids down to the waterfront. They might like that..... They can look for crabs under the pier or something.

KY gets hot in the summer (90's typically, 100's occasionly) and the humidity is killer. It can be like breathing water at times. yuck!
I like the hot weather, but after 3 months of 100 degrees, I am ready for Fall. Bring on the jackets, sweaters and boots! I am ready to retire the shorts, t-shirts and flip flops!
(in two months time, I will be whining about the cold!)

It's humid here too since we are on the ocean and have the rainforest. Moisture everywhere ya know. So I know what that is like. Sweating in our average 70 degree weather because it is humid is NOT fun!!! More heat just makes it worse!

I grew up in Ottawa, where -35C (-31F) was not uncommon in winter, and summers got up to +35C (+95F) and occasionally higher. I remember the last summer before we got air conditioning, it went up to 107F and we slept in the basement on the cement floor with the spiders to try to stay cool. It didn't help much, and I didn't sleep much because I was terrified of the bugs! LOL
