The first time it happens was not planned. It had been dreamt of but neither believed it would ever really happen. For the most part they don’t even know how it happened.
They were working a case. They were on duty watching over a foreign dignitary, Jean Gales, who was attending a black tie Diplomat Gala in Los Angeles. Kensi wore a deep purple gown that clung to all the right places, her hair swept to a loose twist on her head. Deeks wore a tuxedo, his hair the usual mess. They stood watch just as they should, but could not keep their eyes off each other. The man they were watching was not blind to the attraction and encouraged them to dance together as he danced next to them with an assortment of beautiful women.
The waltzing lessons they received from Hetty had actually come in handy, much to their surprise. They stuck by the side of their charge but spun beautifully together around the room.
Callen and Sam were at the door to pick up Jean and take him back to his hotel just before the gala was over for the evening. Kensi and Deeks were now alone, standing on the sidewalk in front of the gala. The air between them sizzled. Still thinking the other was gorgeous and how they had spent the evening in almost constant physical contact, Jean had insisted on dancing with every female in the building, they exchanged silent glances and small nods and headed for Kensi’s car.
Kensi drove silently to Deeks’ apartment, continuing to glance at him. He was openly staring at her. His eyes were deep blue, colored with desire. When she stopped in a parking spot in front of his apartment he took her hand and nodded towards his apartment. Kensi willingly followed him.
Once inside he poured two glasses of wine and turned on some music. He then approached her and took her hand, pulling her to his chest, wrapping his other hand around her waist. He held her close as they both swayed to the soft music filling the room.
Kensi shivered, hoping Deeks couldn’t feel it. But of course he could. He was certain she could feel the pounding in his chest as his heart practically beat right out of his ribcage. She, of course, could feel it. Deeks placed a soft kiss on her neck and pulled back to look in her eyes and leaned in and pressed his lips to hers. Her corresponding intake of breath set him on fire. He decided right then and there that there was no one he had ever wanted more than Kensi. He hoped she felt the same. He pulled back to look in her eyes again, seeking emotion in them and she followed him into his space, crashing her lips back into his. They stood together in his living room locked together, for how long they don’t know.
He broke the kiss and started down the hall to his bedroom, losing pieces of clothing as they went.
Once they arrived in his room he helped her unzip her dress, she slid it down her body as he looked on.
I wanna watch you undress
I wanna watch you glow
He pulled her naked form to his bed and guided her down with him. Running his hands down her sides, then back up across her breasts and up to her face and stroked her cheek and he leaned in again to kiss her. He rolled her to rest atop him on the bed, skin to skin from chest to toes. He reached up and released the clip that held her hair up, letting her locks cascade down onto his chest. Deeks ran his fingers through her hair; he could not believe how soft it felt. He smiled at her as she leaned down to kiss him. He pulls her even closer.
Let your hair down
All around, cover us both
Their hands explored one another. Lips followed hands across each other’s bodies as they exchanged positions many times. They rolled again and Deeks found Kensi warm and waiting as he slid into her. What started slow and sweet became heated and passionate as they moved towards the height of pleasure together. Both completely overtaken with the strength of the release, they cry out together.
You come in waves
We crash and we roll
As they lay together in his bed near sleep he breathes her in, whispering he wants her to stay, he wants to wake up with her. He doesn’t tell her that he wants this for always; there will be time for that later.
You surround me, pull me, drown me, then swallow me whole
She stays.
The following days at work were normal, as if nothing had happened, but as more time passed Kensi missed Deeks’ touch. It was only one night, but it was by far the best she had ever had. She didn’t know how to approach him about it without seeming needy and that just wasn’t how she did things. So she watched him. Watched him work, watched him joke with the guys, watched him while they sparred and worked out. Going home every night to dream of Deeks and wake up wishing he was there.
You turn, turn, turn, turning me on
Like a slow fire burn
Time was passing and he didn’t know how to approach her again, sure that she thought their night together was a mistake since she had hardly spoken to him since they arrived at work that morning after. He didn’t know how to bring it up again without ruining the working relationship they had, he didn’t want to lose her in any aspect of his life.
Know that it's wrong
He could no longer help himself; he had been following her around the mission for days, trying to find a time to approach her. At the end of a long day he found her in the firing range. He watched her empty rounds into the target.
Still I run, run, run, run right into you
Yeah, I run, run, run, run right into you
It’s late; Kensi is in the firing range practicing. Deeks is watching from the window, she hasn’t seen him yet. He admires her stance, her quiet strength as the bullets strike her target. He quietly opens the door. With the help of the ear coverings and shots firing she hasn’t heard him approach. He does so cautiously. He can’t resist any longer. He has to touch her again.
Kensi pulls the clip from her gun to reload and feels something against her back. Before she can turn to attack, strong arms slip around her waist. She knows it’s him. His lips come to the spot just below her ear. He kisses her there, inhaling her. Removing the ear covers he whispers how he misses her, needs her. How he wants her to come home with him tonight.
It’s been two weeks since their encounter. She has dreamed of his touch, knowing she shouldn’t. But she can’t help it. He continues to kiss down her neck nudging her shirt as far out of the way as he can before kissing back up to the spot he started, just below her ear. She can feel him smile against her skin as she draws in a shaky breath.
You pull me in close
You buckle my knees
I shake and I shiver just to feel you breathe
She turns in his arms bringing one hand to his cheek, the other to the hair at the back of his neck, curling her fingers in it. He looks into her eyes and she nods, he leans in to kiss her - A passionate kiss that steals her breath away.
Taking her hand he leads her down the hallway towards the bullpen where he grabs their bags. He steps close to her, whispers to follow him. She does, without question. She is not interested in fighting him, not now. Not when she needs him this badly.
Back in his apartment they barely make it inside the door before clothes are being shed, kisses shared. He circles her, coming to stand behind her, with both hands at her waist he guides her to his room. Their now nude bodies falling to the bed, passion being expressed, they share each caress.
You trace my lines
(You trace your lines)
Deeks can’t get enough of her skin. His fingers run over every inch of her body. He wants to know her more intimately. She means more to him than anyone ever has.
Kensi returns his caress. His skin is smooth and warm, he is solid. She is amazed they are here together like this again.
They make love again, this time better than the first. Not knowing how that could be possible they just marvel at the feeling they share. They find themselves in each other as they come together again and again. Knowing deep in their souls this is how they are meant to be together.
Stirring my soul
Shoot sparks at the heart of the world and I watch it explode (I watch you, I watch you)
They continue to share nights together at the end of their work days. Neither can imagine being apart, as partners or as lovers.
They work side by side, a stronger team than they could have ever imagined. This kind of relationship ruins some partnerships; it only improved Kensi and Deeks. They were more in tune, better able to read what the other was going to do.
Granted there were times it was hard working with someone when all you wanted to do was touch them or kiss them. No one knew they were going home together each night. No one even suspected. Except maybe Hetty, because she knows everything.
You turn, turn, turn, turning me on
Like a slow fire burn
Know that it's wrong
Still I run, run, run, run right into you
Yeah, I run, run, run, run right into you
They fight the bad guys with more ease, more awareness where the other is and how they move. The others are baffled by how they have managed to take down more bad guys than ever.
I’m amazing when you’re beside me
After a few months Deeks wants the paper that says he and Kensi belong to each other, so the world knows it. They know they do, but he wants the world to know now.
I am so much more
They share a quiet night at home, Deeks’ apartment has become home to them both.
Deeks takes her hand caressing her fingers and palm, kneels before her and presents a ring and tells her exactly what she means to him. How and why he loves her and how he wants to spend forever with her beside him.
And I feel your fingers
She has waited for this moment; she didn’t think she would ever feel this way about someone again. But Deeks has changed all of Kensi’s expectations over the last two years. He got under her skin, broke down the walls. Loved her for everything she was…and wasn’t. There was love evident in his eyes as he looked for her answer.
Kensi could feel her heart pounding.
Deeks could feel his heart about to explode from his chest.
Pound like thunder
She looked into his eyes, hers glistening with tears of joy, and whispered her answer.
I am so much more
Deeks leapt to his feet and collected a giddy Kensi into his arms after he slid the ring onto her finger. Picking her up and spinning her in circles. He set her down but did not release her as he kissed her, picking her up again and holding her close.
So much more
Kensi and Deeks told the team they were together and getting married. The team was surprised they had managed to keep this to themselves for so long. But they fully supported Kensi and Deeks and were eager to take place in the upcoming wedding.
It was taking place on the beach in Malibu, with the waves rolling in as they said their vows. There would not be many in attendance, based on the lives they led they didn’t have many friends or family. But the important people in their lives were there. In addition to Sam, Callen, Nell, Eric, and Hetty several other people from OSP were there sitting in the chairs, there to show their support of two of their own.
Turn, turn, turn, turning me on
Like a slow fire burn
Deeks waited for Kensi to follow Nell from the tent on the beach, Sam walking her down the makeshift aisle in the sand as Callen and Eric stood beside him. This day couldn’t be more perfect. There was sunshine, waves, friends, and a beautiful woman that would be by his side forever.
Know that it's wrong
It wasn’t wrong; it was right, and perfect. They loved each other and their friends were there to love and support them in their new lives as husband and wife.
Hetty was conducting the wedding, who knew she could marry people? But there were many facets to their leader that constantly surprised everyone. Hetty was very honored to be there and able to do this for two very special members of her team.
Still I run, run, run, run right into you
Yeah, I run, run, run, run right into you
Once the vows had been spoken Kensi and Deeks shared their first kiss as husband and wife. Then they turned to the cheers from their loved ones and walked arms around each other to the tent where the reception was to be held.
Turn, turn, turn, turning me on
Sam and Callen gave toasts, making the crowd howl with laughter as they shared stories of Kensi and Deeks over the last 2 years.
Hetty gave a beautiful toast that made everyone, including Kensi, cry. Deeks lovingly put his arm around his new wife and kissed her cheek. Sending shivers down her spine.
Like a slow fire burn
Know that it's wrong
Eric was in charge of the music and called Kensi and Deeks to the dance floor for their first dance as husband and wife. They held to each other and looked deeply into the others souls.
Still I run, run, run, run right into you
Yeah, I run, run, run, run right into you
Still I run, run, run, run right back to you
They whispered, “I love you” to each other.
Turning me on
Their lips meet.
